Andy stood just outside the kitchen, silently watching Emily as she deftly ran the blade of a knife through a green pepper. The soft glow of the early morning sun played off the gentle curve of her shoulders, casting her in an almost other-worldly light.
He found himself spellbound by the sight of her, his mind returning to the night before. He hadn't expected things to progress as quickly as they had, her eagerness catching him completely off guard. Now was the point where he'd usually crush his little toy, shattering their pathetic lives. This time was different, however- Emily had connections to others in his game, and watching them destroy each other could be so much more rewarding in the end. He could tell that Tristan was getting close to his breaking point- hiding death threats in the open two nights ago was just one sign of his weakening state of mind.
Andy's thoughts returned to Emily, the way she stood in his kitchen, somehow not out of place in the least- as if she belonged there, truly his. He shook his head, clearing cobwebs of unfamiliar feelings and regaining his usual complete control. He slipped his hands around her tiny waist, delighting in the sensation of the silk against his fingers. Emily jumped ever so slightly, yet didn't pull away.
Emily: "You startled me- I didn't think you'd be awake yet."
Andy: "How long have you been up, angel?"
Emily: "Going on 19 hours now, I'd say."
Andy: "You didn't sleep at all last night?"
Andy: "Are you out?"
Emily nodded, a shadow of fear passing briefly across her face. Andy reached out for her, gently pulling her closer to him.
Andy: "I'll get you some more, ok?"
Emily answered by pulling him as close to her as she could, her kiss lingering and full.
Andy: "Did you need a ride to the studio today?"
Emily: "Not for a few hours, actually. Why?"
Andy: "I have to go to the office today, very soon as a matter of fact. But if you don't need to be there for a few hours, I'll just leave you the keys to one of the cars."
Emily: "Do you really have to go to work already?"
Andy was suddenly very much aware of Emily's entire body pressed tightly against his own- the rise and fall of her chest against his as she breathed, the subtle pulse of her heartbeat, the feel of her breath against his skin. He ran his hand absently up and down her back in a slow rhythm.
Andy: "I'm already an hour late..."
Emily: "Then what's another hour?"
Andy hesitated- she made a good point. Something tugged at the back of his mind, something that made him feel for just a fraction of a second as though he were drowning. He didn't even realize right away that he was kissing her again, that he'd lead her back into his bedroom.
He had just enough presence of mind to wonder fleetingly why he wasn't just getting ready for work before she slipped her nightgown to the floor. The last of his coherent thoughts left him as she pulled him down with her onto the bed, her bare skin flushed and warm against his own.
