Tristan: "Except our undead torment."
Deanna: "Is it really that bad?"
Tristan: "Lately, yes. If you must know."

Deanna: "James just needs some time to sort through things. You did the same thing, remember?"
Tristan: "Must be something about the season; it makes us all go crazy."
Deanna: "Well, despite everything that's happened, I'm glad you found me."
Tristan: "I'm sure it's been just a blast being dragged into the heart of darkness."

Deanna: "I don't recall being dragged anywhere. Besides, I always thought of your house as more of a 'pit of despair' rather than 'the heart of darkness'."
Tristan: "You know what I mean."
Deanna: "And you know that it's all worth it if I get to be with you."

The bitter irony of the past few days was finally taking its toll, distorting so much of what he'd once been so certain of. It seemed that he was always circling back on himself, reliving defeats time and again. Tristan felt something deep inside twist and change, and he did nothing to fight it.

Tristan: "We've been through this before twice already, why should this time turn out any different?"
Deanna: "Third time's a charm."
Tristan: "And bad things come in threes."
Deanna: "I always loved your cheery outlook."
Tristan: "Just call me 'Mr. Sunshine'."

Deanna: "If you insist."
Tristan: "Don't think giving me that pitiful look is going to work."
Deanna: "Is it not?"

Tristan: "It's not working at all."
Deanna: "Maybe I should try harder."
Tristan: "Maybe you should."
