Mary was pretty sure she'd never seen Bellie's quite as crowded as it was. It took her several minutes to spot Emily sitting at the far end of the counter, frantically waving for her attention.

Mary: "If I didn't know for a fact that we have no food at all in the house, I'd suggest we just leave."
Emily: "Not to mention that I just don't feel like cooking tonight."
Mary: "Is everything ok? You seem a little off. Was the therapist creepy or something?"
Emily: "A little, but I think I'll give her another session or two in case the problem is with me and not her. I dunno, I think right now I feel worse for having gone."

Mary: "Oh Em, I'm really sorry. Are you sure you should go back?"
Emily: "If I don't I'll just end up feeling like an even bigger loser than I already am."
Mary: "You're not a loser."
Emily: "Mary, I'm nearing thirty. I'm still single, I don't own a car, and I'm unemployed. I'm a loser."

Mary: "You're not a loser until you're at least thirty-five and still living in your parents' basement collecting Star Trek figurines."
Emily: "I don't exactly have parents, remember?"
Mary: "You can borrow mine if you really want to reach the top of loserdom. I'm sure they'd love to have you."
Emily: "Thanks. So how'd your job search go?"

Mary: "It was yet another spectacular failure. I mean honestly, you'd tell me if I smelled bad, right?"
Emily: "You smell really good!"
Mary: "I think so, too. Oh well. I picked up an application for you from the new market like you asked."
Emily: "Thanks. At least it'll be something, right?"

Bellie: "Here's your pancakes, girls. Sorry about the delay, it's just crazy in here tonight."
Mary: "So I noticed. Did you tell people you were giving food away?"
Bellie: "I'm not sure what happened, but I'm not really complaining. It's been like this for a few weeks now! Normally I'd have my niece in helping out, but she's gone back to school in the city."

Mary felt the beginnings of an idea starting to form as she looked around the over-stuffed eatery.

Mary: "Hey, any chance you might want to hire a waitress? You know, someone to help out during peak hours?"

She promptly ignored Emily's sudden burst of laughter from beside her, looking up at Bellie with a huge smile.

Bellie: "Are you volunteering?"
Mary: "If you're paying."
Bellie: "I can't offer much hourly, but you'd get to keep all your tips. You ever waitressed before?"
Mary: "No, but I'm a fast learner."

Bellie: "Good enough for me. When can you start?"
Mary: "Tomorrow?"
Bellie: "Consider yourself employed, little lady."

Mary as a waitress? No good can come of that.

And hey, I think this thing is broken. It won't go forward anymore and I can't have read all 17 parts already...

Mary... would not make a very good waitress. Or much of anything that has to do with people. :\

Should be fascinating, though! I am psyched for the next installment!

You know, I really wish there was a place like Bellie's around here. That place looks so ... comforting!

Mary as a waitress is going to be an interesting thing. :) And the whole thing with the UVSN and the Order is going to be great. I can just feel it.

I feel bad for the whole Tristan/Deanna/Emily/Jacob...square? Jacob isn't really even there, Tristan just has the shittiest timing ever. And he is an ass to Deanna, I never once pictured him being like that in a relationship (fo serious, a toothbrush and bleach?)

I had originally woke up at 8 am, starved and found this, I am awake for most of the night so I was running on very little sleep and had to stay up to read this, I went back to sleep before commenting though and because of that. I had a dream about it and the whole Mary and Emily coming back to life had somehow made them vampires...my dreams are fuckered up and it was Jacob trying to break it to them. Seriously, I really did dream that.

No more?! So soon?! *screams and tears her hair out*
And I the only one who feels a bit of sympathy for Mr. Stone? Clearly, he's out of his mind and is a complete wreck for dear Emily. So alone and hated. Poor thing. :(

Also, quick question; where did you get Jacob's clothes? They're so lovely.

I made them especially for him! I'm afraid I spoil him a bit...

Wha....over already? Ok, it wasn't that short. I got lost in the story as always :)

I really like how everyone's 'story' is all coming together. Mega interesting.

Jacob and Glass in the same workplace...*faints*

So. I've been saving all my comments for here. Wow, is it really 17 parts already? Just reading through this seems I went so soon. Anyway. Let's see. Major points.

Tristan. I should be angry at him for how he treats Deanna, but I can't help it. =/ Really, I don't think those two are meant to be at all (and I say this not just because I'm a Tristan/Emily shipper =P) They just fight too much, and she's so insecure. :( I don't think they should really BE with each other.

And what's up with poor Tristan? He seems to be even more angsty. Is it because of Emily that night? =/ Poor guy. I wish he and Emily would listen to everyone and just come together. Hehe. They have the WORST timing.

Secondly. Jacob. He (and Mr. Twinkles) keep growing on me further. :) I quite feel for him, but I can't help but fear that he's being pulled into the Emily/Tristan/Andy/Deanna love polygon.

I'm quite amused to see what happens with Mary as a waitress though. -snort-

And Emily and her new counselor... =o OH noes! Jade?! -dies- Wow. I'm... shocked. They're all tying into each other now. Scary. =P

Another brilliant update though. :D I was glad to get more interaction from James, I just wish his old hair would come back ;) Haha. And I wish Mary would give him a chance. :( (I recall that closet scene ;) haha!)

I'm so glad you managed to udpate; I've been anticipating this :D

Absolutely worth waiting for! (As always)

James is one tough dude.

Awww, I was hoping we'd see James carrying Tristan home. I shouldn't enjoy Tristan falling apart half as much as I do, but its just too awesome for words. Maybe I'm just a sicko who wants to see his ass getting beat. Literally. *cough*

Jacob is gonna be my favorite in no time flat, he's just so damn adorable. Mind you, if Andy shows up in eyeliner more often the competition will be really on. Andy's not going to go 100% good guy now, right? That would make me sad, I do so love the evil buggers.

xD *ahem* Never commented, but hath been stalking. Have to say I love Deception Pass and have nicknamed it Angst City.

D: I feel bad for Deanna because she's stuck being his temporary sanctuary when things don't go the way he wants to with Emily. Poor girl.

And I nearly died laughing at Andy. Poor thing. No one has love for the Andy, it seems! I do think he loves her, it's just he has issues and doesn't know how to deal with them.

<3 for Jacob. Adorable. Though I don't think I would know what to do if I knew him in real life. xD *such an awkward person*

Love for this. 8D Keep it up!

Man, awesome. Mary is still my favourite character, but I LOVE that scene with Jacob looking at the snacks. It makes me giggle, for some reason.

*Blinks* like everybody else....

What, over already? Wow, that went by fast...

Looks around...

Where's Markus and Serge?

One of my favoritest story couples...I miss them :(

Ok, I so want to adopt Jacob...someone else said that he was like Emily's new little black kitten/project...yup, what she said...

I'm loving that you both are laying the foundation for something bigger...with the vamps, bridled vs. unbridled is what I'd guess you call that...those crazy couples...Jade/Dr. Frangipani...wow, guess you don't mess with Jade's crushs...

Why doesn't Jade have Glass whip up a love spell for her? Andy would be hers, so easily...Silly Jade, she probably has too much respect for him...

Glass is just the hottest sociopath I've ever seen...hrm, wonders if there's going to be an ultimate show-down between him and Abigail....

Andy, wow, pathetic, dude...even in his mangled mind, he's got to know that trying to destroy and then kill your girlfriend pretty much permanently excludes you from the make-up/break-up club...

And I really, really, really like Deanna...I didn't want to, at first, because of how I saw her between Emily and Tristan, but nope, I just adore her, and Tristan doesn't deserve her...she needs a new man to ride into town, mmm-hmmm...

Thank you both, for an excellent update...beautiful pictures, even more interesting camera angles, more things to discover to interweave the story...I'm so glad that people on MATY recommended DP...you have raised the bar, really.

Oh, I almost forgot! The Bridge! You got the bridge you needed! I had read your post, somewhere, about the real Deception Pass' bridge, and I'm so glad you were able to Sim that! Very clever, yup-yup!

Ahem, ok, yeah, really looooong comment already, but I forgot to ask...

What's up with the Ranch Dressing with Mary's Pancakes? Is she preggers or was that just a fun thing to throw in?

ROFL!

You mean *you* don't put ranch dressing normally on your pancakes? YOU FIEND.

Although, this makes me curious... I really do wonder what it tastes like...

My first comment
I've just finished re-reading Deception Pass for the second time and it occurred to me that I've never commented!
And so I wanted to say how much I love this series. It's the most original, funny and interesting Sims 2 story that I've ever read and I'm completely hooked! = D
I love how much detail you put into all the characters, it makes me feel like I really know them all, and so when something bad happens to any of them I can almost feel their pain and I sometimes feel like nearly screaming at the computer! = p
I think it's great as well how much you can make me both hate and love a character ! I mean I hate Andy with a fiery passion and seriously want him to suffer for what he put Emily through but I still find his character really intriguing and can't wait to see if he comes up with any more evil plots !
I love how much detail you put into all the sets and how the characters look as well. I seriously envy your Sims picture skills and am amazed at how you can make the characters do the things you need them to do !
Thank you both for sharing this amazing story and I can't wait to read more ! = D

Great episode, as always.
