Chris pulled the stake out of his hand with one swift motion, and then screamed in pain.

Chris: "Mother fucking bloody hell! I'm going to kill that vampire the next time I see him!"
Jared: "What happened?"
Chris: "Nothing. What the hell is this? I said red-headed waitress, and you're far too late, the night's nearly over."
Jared: "This is the best I could do."

Chris: "She kicked your sorry arse, didn't she?"
Jared: "Hell no!"
Chris: "Then where is my waitress?"
Jared: "She's… she's in the hospital. I kicked her sorry ass."
Chris: "Why in the bloody hell would you do that? I wanted you to bring her here, not send her to the hospital."
Jared: "What can I say, you were right, she was feisty. She killed my brother!"

Chris sighed.

Chris: "She killed the smart one, and you were able to get away?"
Jared: "Well, yeah. Like I said, I kicked her ass."
Chris: "I don't tolerate lying, boy."
Jared: "What are you talking about? You lie all the time."

Chris: "That may be so, but I have a strict no-tolerance policy about being lied to. You can thank your mum for that."
Jared: "Whatever. I'm not lying."
Chris: "Fine. It's just as well. I'm starving for something other than liquid and that diner's the only place open this late. It'll be nice to eat in peace for once and not have drinks accidentally spilled on me."

Jared: "You want to go to the diner?"
Chris: "Yes. Is that a problem?"
Jared: "It's just that the police were there. They probably closed the place down."
Chris: "I sincerely doubt that. The place would have to be on fire before Bellie would let anything close it for the night."

Jared: "Maybe we should call ahead?"
Chris: "If you're so concerned about making a wasted trip, then stay behind. I really couldn't care less."
Jared: "No, I'll go. I just need to take care of something first. I'll meet you up there."
