James: “Can you believe it?”
Tristan: “I know; it was unexpected enough just seeing them in the crowd. I just wish I’d managed to not sound like a complete git again.”
James: “What? I’m talking about the magazine.”
Tristan: “Oh. Yeah, that’s great.”
James: “’Great,’ yes. Your head’s gone straight up into the clouds, I see. Come on then, no point in hanging out here by ourselves.”
Tristan: “Is the club empty yet?”
James quickly peered over the edge of railing.

James: “Sparky’s down there cleaning up, otherwise it’s deserted. We can escape unseen.”
Tristan: “Thank goodness we didn’t have to resort to the grapnels.”

James: “You up to stopping by a bit later? Those Gamera DVDs came in that I told you about last week.”
Tristan: “No one of interest show up tonight?”
James: “Andy and his ‘meeting’ sort of threw me for a loop. There’s always tomorrow night. Want to come with?”
Tristan: “Sadly, I’m afraid I have to spend tomorrow night vacuuming. Maybe next time.”

James: “You said that the last time. How dirty can your floors get in three weeks?”
Tristan: “With the fear of you finding me another date like Katie, you’d be surprised.”
James: “She wasn’t that bad.”
Tristan: “James, I’ve never in my life met someone who could talk for so long about nothing.”
James: “She did tend to go on and on, didn’t she? Still, it’s not about the talking, is it?”
Tristan: “Do you always have to be so crass? Besides, she’d have been able to talk even you into a coma.”
James laughed, pausing next to Tristan’s car.

James: “You’re probably right. Regardless, it's not like you're doing that great a job on your own. You didn't say a single word to Emily, despite spending the entire evening mooning over her.”
Tristan: “I’m thinking about asking her out after the shoot on Monday.”
James: “Really? What’d you have in mind?”
Tristan: “I was thinking maybe dinner at Wayfarer.”
James: “You’re serious, aren’t you?”
Tristan: “Why shouldn’t I be?”
James leveled his gaze on Tristan, giving him a long look that reminded him all too much of the type his mother had been fond of using.

James: “We’ll talk about this later. Hey, make sure you pick up some snacks before you come over. I’m sick of the food at my house.”
Tristan: “Fine.”
James: “See you in a few hours.”
