Andy had driven directly to the laboratory after leaving Emily at the park. He wasn't looking forward to meeting with the scientists this time- they were some of the few of the people he had working for him that didn't seem constantly on edge, but there had been definite strain in Xero's voice over the phone.
Andy: "What's so important you had to interrupt my entire day?"

Jade: "Xero discovered something about Mnemosyne today. Something we need to show you."

Xero: "Do you see this here, the way this particular virus is mutating?"
Andy: "If you insist..."
Glass: "It's not supposed to do that."
Andy: "What does that mean?"

Glass: "It means Xero fucked up, sir. It means that those 'skull-splitting headaches' are going to kill whoever's been infected. We've already seen it with our two test cases."
Andy: "How does that virus manage to kill a vampire?"
Glass: "It overwhelms the neural pathways, causing a total flood of memories to be triggered. It's similar to electrocution from within- once infected, the vampire has no chance of survival."

Xero: "There's more than that, though- it's mutating into something else, something we don't know anything about."
Jade: "Basically we have an uncontrollable virus with unknown side effects out there."

Andy walked away from the three scientists, taking a few minutes to think over the situation. He wasn't at all pleased with the news- he hadn't wanted Tristan to die, it was far too early in the game still. Plus having a virus with unknown side effects on the loose wasn't exactly a small problem in and of it's self. He focused his rage- centering it, setting it aside for the time being.
Andy: "Take care of it. NOW." |
