Tristan: "I know I really shouldn't be offering advice to someone who would most probably kill me at the first chance they got, but don't you think it's really stupid to be dragging us around with you?"

Amethyst kept walking forward, trying to keep herself from becoming distracted. She was trying to concentrate, to listen for any sign of Andrew Stone hiding around the next turn. The coward probably heard them and ran for cover, leaving his 'friends' behind to die.

Tristan: "I mean, far be it from me to tell you how to do your job and all..."
Obsidian: "Hey, why are you still talking?"
Tristan: "Just making an observation is all."
Obsidian: "Well it's time to shut up now."

He had to keep them distracted as much as was possible- if he could keep their attention focused on him, they'd be less likely to go after Emily or Markus. He was seriously concerned about Markus- that earlier earthquake must have really disconcerted him. He wasn't his usual self at all- it was as if he'd been drained of all his self-confidence. He must have had a bad experience with earthquakes before or something. They took a few more steps before Amethyst stopped dead in her tracks, causing Emily to run right into the back of her.

Amethyst: "Shhh! I think I know where that spineless bastard is hiding."

Amethyst crashed through the door of Andy's downstairs office and was startled by him sitting calmly in a chair, waiting for them.

Obsidian shoved Markus, Emily, and Tristan into the room and slammed the door shut behind them. He took note of Andy's cool expression failing for just a fraction of a second at the sight of Emily. So, Stone had a weakness after all.

Andy: "You've just made the worst mistake of your... unlives."
Amethyst: "No, Stone- you're the one who made the mistake."

Tristan: "Is this the part where we all argue over who made the worst mistakes in their lives? This could take a while- do you mind if we just duck out for a bit?"
Obsidian: "That's it!"

He grabbed Emily, twisting her arm behind her back and positioning himself to make a death strike at a moment's notice. Markus let out a small gasp and backed into a corner. Andy jumped up from his chair, ready to leap over his desk if needed. Tristan moved forward but was held back by Amethyst.

Obsidian: "We didn't come here to play games."
Amethyst: "Unless any of you think you can move faster than Obsidian, you'd better just sit back and listen to us."

Andy hesitated- if only he'd been on the other side of the desk he'd have turned these amateurs into dust by now. Before he knew what was happening, Amethyst was on the floor, Emily was stumbling forward, and Tristan had Obsidian pinned against the wall.

Tristan: "I think I can move faster than either one of you, actually. Your biggest mistake was touching her."

The last thing Obsidian saw before becoming little more than a pile of dust was a flash of red in Tristan's eyes as he drove something straight into his heart. A yellow number 2 pencil fell to the ground, dust settling around it in drifts. Tristan turned around as Emily was regaining her balance.

Emily: "That's the most unconventional use of a pencil if I've ever seen."
Tristan: "Whatever works, right?"

Amethyst slowly picked herself up off the floor, unable to come to terms with the shift of power in the room. Andy was now standing in front of her, seething with anger.

Andy: "How dare you come into my home and make threats?"
Amethyst: "You fucking bastard..."

Andy: "You're only immortal as long as you don't piss off the wrong people."

He raised his arm, a stake held tightly in his right hand. In one swift motion he brought it down and forward, piercing her heart with utmost precision.

Markus: "Andy..? Are you alright?"

Andy turned around slowly, trying to regain control of his emotions. It never seemed a difficult thing to do before now- what was going on? The sight of Emily standing so close to Tristan sickened him- why hadn't he killed that son of a bitch yet?

Andy: "I'm fine. Emily- come here, dear. Are you ok?"

Andy was surprised to feel actual concern as to her well-being. Emily paused- part of her wanted to go running to Andy, but another part of her didn't like the possessive tone in his voice. She looked toward the door of the office without moving.

Emily: "Just dandy. Shouldn't we go find the others? I'm worried about James and Mary."
Tristan: "Yeah, they might end up killing each other."
