![]() Tristan: "I know I really shouldn't be offering advice to someone who would most probably kill me at the first chance they got, but don't you think it's really stupid to be dragging us around with you?" Amethyst kept walking forward, trying to keep herself from becoming distracted. She was trying to concentrate, to listen for any sign of Andrew Stone hiding around the next turn. The coward probably heard them and ran for cover, leaving his 'friends' behind to die.
He had to keep them distracted as much as was possible- if he could keep their attention focused on him, they'd be less likely to go after Emily or Markus. He was seriously concerned about Markus- that earlier earthquake must have really disconcerted him. He wasn't his usual self at all- it was as if he'd been drained of all his self-confidence. He must have had a bad experience with earthquakes before or something. They took a few more steps before Amethyst stopped dead in her tracks, causing Emily to run right into the back of her.
Amethyst crashed through the door of Andy's downstairs office and was startled by him sitting calmly in a chair, waiting for them.
Obsidian: "We didn't come here to play games." Andy hesitated- if only he'd been on the other side of the desk he'd have turned these amateurs into dust by now. Before he knew what was happening, Amethyst was on the floor, Emily was stumbling forward, and Tristan had Obsidian pinned against the wall.
Andy: "How dare you come into my home and make threats?"
He raised his arm, a stake held tightly in his right hand. In one swift motion he brought it down and forward, piercing her heart with utmost precision.
Andy turned around slowly, trying to regain control of his emotions. It never seemed a difficult thing to do before now- what was going on? The sight of Emily standing so close to Tristan sickened him- why hadn't he killed that son of a bitch yet? Andy: "I'm fine. Emily- come here, dear. Are you ok?" Andy was surprised to feel actual concern as to her well-being. Emily paused- part of her wanted to go running to Andy, but another part of her didn't like the possessive tone in his voice. She looked toward the door of the office without moving.
