Emily: "James! Markus! Tristan!"
James: "Hi sweet pea!"

Tristan: "We'd have been here at least a half an hour ago but James didn't want to wake up."
James: "Quiet, you!"

Markus: "We brought dessert."
Tristan: "I made a cake!"
Emily: "Oh wow! Thanks so much, guys!"

Emily reached out to take cake from Tristan and felt herself blushing fiercely as her fingertips brushed against his. She quickly looked away, avoiding eye contact as a strange feeling of guilt and confusion played just within the range of conscious thought. She turned quickly and made her way into the kitchen, followed closely by Tristan.

Emily: "Mr. & Mrs. McMally, these are our good friends Tristan, James, and Markus."

Caroline: "Very pleased to meet you, boys. Mary, which one is your boyfriend?"
Mary: "Mother!"
Caroline: "Well I was just asking, dear. Would any of you boys care for a beverage?"

Caroline turned to walk over to the refrigerator to get drinks when there was a distinctive 'clunk' as the necklace she'd been wearing fell to the ground. Markus reached down and retrieved it for her, jumping a bit as a tiny spark of electricity shot from the surface of the golden-orange stones.

Markus: "Sweet Zombie Jesus, Mrs. McMally! This is gorgeous!"

Caroline: "Why thank you, Markus! I recently acquired this piece at an estate sale in town."
Markus: "That's some of the nicest work with amber I've ever seen."

Joseph: "Markus, are you a jeweler?"
James: "Actually we're musicians."
Joseph: "Is that right? What kind?"

Markus: "We're in a band- I play the drums, Tristan here plays the bass and a million other things-"
Tristan: "Not the accordion, though. That's the devil's music."
Markus: "-and James plays the guitar and sings."

Joseph: "Wow, that's just great! I used to want to be in a rock and roll band back in the day. You're obviously far too young to remember this, but when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan show, the next day it seemed like everyone had the mop top hairstyle, including myself."
James: "Oh I remember that!"

James: "Bloody brilliant performance, wasn't it?"
Tristan: "You can never pull him away from the reruns of it!"
Joseph: "It never gets old, does it?"

Mary: "Hey James, I see you found the electrical outlet again. Next time make sure you leave your finger in longer."
Caroline: "Marion Josephine McMally!"
Emily: "You can all go in the living room if you'd like- there's more room in there."
Caroline: "We'll get out of your way, darling."

Emily: "Mary, can you do me the biggest favor and sauté those for me? I've got to get the rest of the dinner prepped."
Mary: "Are you sure you want me near the stove?"
Emily: "I trust you!"
Mary: "I don't trust me."

Tristan: "Can I do anything to help?"
Mary: "Take my parents far away from here."
Emily: "Mary!"
Mary: "What?!"
Emily: "I think we've got everything under control here, Tristan. Thanks, though."
