Tristan: "Run."

Ian: "You're so pathetic, Emmie- still trying to run. You know I'll get you in the end."

Ian: "You'll never escape from me."

Tristan: "Emily!"

The world around her shattered into piercing shards of light, her own screams ringing loud in her ears. Emily leapt up from where she'd been sitting on the floor, falling backwards through the doorway of James' room. Through a daze of sleep and fear, she felt the touch of a hand and lashed out, shrieking in abject horror.

Abigail: "There there, babydoll, it's all over now. Shhh…"
Emily could hardly hear the old woman's words through her own racking sobs, her terror still holding her tightly in it's grip. Abigail continued speaking softly, trying to calm her down before she hurt herself. She knew the girl was haunted, but had no idea just how bad off she really was.

Emily felt as though the floor beneath her feet had shifted, suddenly and violently pitching her forward. Through aching tears she slowly became aware of her surroundings, no longer being pursued through a grabbing forest, once again back in the world she knew as reality.
Abigail leaned forward and helped Emily to her feet, taking her into her arms and rocking her slowly back and forth.

Emily: "I couldn't- I-"
Abigail: "I know, child, I know."
Emily: "I can't help him."
Abigail: "Shhh… It's alright."

Emily took quivering breath and pulled gently away from Abigail, tears still wet on her cheeks. She felt a tug deep within herself, like the dragging of an undertow. She pushed all her fears and frustrations down, hiding them as far away as she could manage. As she felt the numbness washing over her, she turned her attention to the bedroom and her friends who were still in the dream-world.

Emily: "I'm so sorry."
