</td>

James was suddenly on the ground, the air knocked out of his lungs. The blood he tasted in his mouth wasn't Kat's.

Tristan: "What the hell are you doing, James?!"
James: "You made me bite my tongue!"

Tristan helped James up off the floor, the two of them simultaneously turning to where Markus and Mary had pulled Kat back from James. She was glaring viciously at Tristan while gently wiping the blood from her neck.

James: "Wait… I… You…"
Mary: "Get yourself an adverb or two and you've got a complete sentence."
James: "You're not… You're all…"
Mary: "Good job, you're almost there!"

James: "How are you all here?"
Kat: "You again!"
Tristan: "Again?"

Kat lunged forward but found herself face to face with Markus.

Markus: "I don't think so, sister."
Kat: "I won't let you take him from me."
Markus: "We're rather fond of James as well-"
Mary: "Some of us not so much."
Markus: "-and we'd really rather he wasn't stuck here with you, to be perfectly honest."

The loneliness and desperation welled up deep inside Kat, the years of isolation converging to this one single moment in time. Kat looked between the four of them- Mary and Markus in front of her, Tristan and James still a few feet away. It was dawning on her that they were as real as she and James, not dream-visions at all. How were they able to be here with her and James, perfectly aware of where they were?

Markus: "Look, maybe we can help you. Maybe we can get you out of here as well."

Kat: "You just don't get it, do you? I. CAN'T. LEAVE. And you're not taking James from me!"

She shoved Markus violently out of the way, her own strength surprising even herself. Caught off guard, he fell to the ground with a sickening thud. Mary blanched, quickly swooping down to his side.

Mary: "Are you ok?"
Markus: "I'm fine, but damn… that hurt!"
Kat: "I don't want to hurt anyone. Please stop."

James wavered next to Tristan, falling slightly forward before being able to right himself. He looked worried as the room swam sickeningly before his eyes.

James: "Tristan… something's wrong."
Kat: "NO! This can't be happening! You're supposed to be able stay!"
Mary: "Oh for crying out loud, will you just stop whining already?"

Kat was suddenly reaching for James, crossing the room faster than any of them thought was possible. More shocking, though, was Mary hurtling herself across the room and getting between the two of them.

Mary: "Hey lady, chill already!"

Kat responded by taking a swing at Mary, who, in ducking to avoid the punch, managed to put her face straight into the path of Kat's oncoming fist. Mary was momentarily stunned, raising her hand to her stinging jaw.

Mary: "Oh no you didn't…"

Mary leapt at Kat, not entirely sure of what she was doing, but doing it anyway.

James: "I think I might still be dreaming…"
Markus: "Hey Tristan, remember how you told us you thought you had an idea? Now would be a really good time to fill us in on that."
Tristan: "We need to get James out of his dream world, and soon."
Markus: "Because their worlds are tangled together- of course!"

Kat let out a frustrated shriek that manifested its self as a bright blast of light, sending Mary flying backward. Kat looked just as startled as the others at the display, but quickly recovered.

Kat: "I can't let you do that!"

Mary stood up slowly, wobbling slightly and putting a hand to her head.

Mary: "Hey! Why is everyone going all transparent?"

Then she was gone.
