Abigail stared blankly at the mess of scribbles on the papers in front of her, trying to make sense of the abbreviations and half wondering if maybe it was some sort of cryptic spell writing she was unaware of.
Abigail: "Now why are you starting to think such nonsense?"

The clock in the hallway answered her by striking half-past the hour. She was getting too old for this sort of thing- slumber parties and late nights were fine when she was a teenager, but she had grown grandchildren now. She promised herself a real vacation when this was finally all over with.
Abigail: "Powers willing, of course."

She looked back down at the maze of writing in front of her. The earliest date she could make out clearly was from November of 1999- nearly six years ago. Her heart ached for the girl briefly before worry crept in- six years in near isolation was bound to have had an affect on the state of her mental health.

She turned her attention to Markus, Mary, and Tristan still seemingly peaceful a few feet from her- she wished there was some way for her to know how things were going for them, knowing their outward appearance had little to do with what was going on in the dream world.

Suddenly Mary's eyes were flickering open, a comical look on her face as the haze of transferring between worlds cleared quickly. Abigail set down the file and went over to Mary, helping her to her feet.

Mary: "That bi- um, woman -made me wake up!"
Abigail: "How are things going?"
Mary: "Last I could tell, things weren't going horribly. I think Markus & Tristan were about to get James out of there. Maybe."
Abigail: "This is good. Time isn't on our side, I'm afraid."

Mary nodded absently, her gaze falling on James sleeping a few feet away. Where before he'd looked almost peaceful, now he seemed strained, as though he were having a bad dream. Mary laughed lightly to herself, remembering fleetingly the state of James' dream world when they'd finally found him.

Mary: "You know, Mr. 'There's-No-Such-Thing-As-Vampires' seems to like to dream he is one."
