Mary: "What are you doing?"

James gave Mary a look as if she'd suddenly become completely retarded.

James: "Getting more chairs."
Mary: "How on earth do you keep getting dates? You clearly failed 'Hint-Getting 101', which I thought was mandatory if you planned on spending more than 10 minutes with a woman."

James looked at her, confused.

Emily: "James, sweetie, I think Markus just wanted to get rid of us. And by 'us' I mean 'you'."

Emily turned, ready to head upstairs with the glass of water she'd gotten from the kitchen.

Mary/James: "Where are you going?"
Emily: "I'm going to help take care of Tristan."
Mary: "What about us?"
Emily: "I guess you two will just have to take care of each other."

Mary: "I meant what can we do to help?"
Emily: "No, you didn't."

Mary lowered her eyes, embarrassed.

Mary: "Sorry."

Emily left the room in awkward silence.

Mary: "So... what do you suppose is wrong with him?"
James: "Don't know. He said migraines, but it seems like he's hallucinating, too."
Mary: "It's probably a brain tumor."

Mary's voice was deadly serious. James looked at her, horrified.

James: "Do you ever think before you speak?"
Mary: "Do you ever think at all? Why hasn't anyone taken him to the hospital yet?"

James: "Tristan... wouldn't let us. He's stubborn. Besides, he doesn't get sick. He's healthy as a horse."
Mary: "No? Well then maybe he was clubbed in the head with a baseball bat and just forgot to mention it to us."

James was starting to get agitated.

James: "He doesn't get sick. He can't get sick."
Mary: "Wow, good vaccinations."

Mary: "Whatever. I'm gonna make a vodka sandwich, you want one?"
James: "Um, thanks, but no."

Mary headed for the fridge to rummage around for vodka. Suddenly James was in front of her, slamming the fridge door shut.

James: "You know what? Tristan doesn't have any bread. He's... allergic. To gluten."
Mary: "Are you sure you don't have a brain tumor? Maybe it's contagious. Vodka, James. Glass. Vodka."
James: "Oh. Right. I'll just get that for you."

James dug through the fridge, pushing aside bottles filled with deep red liquid. He did his best to hide the interior of the refrigerator from Mary without being overly obvious about it. Finally he found what he was looking for- the large bottle of Absolut Tristan kept behind all the 'necessities'.

James: "Speaking of contagious, you look like hell."
Mary: "Yeah, you too."
James: "I'm fine."
Mary: "I know."

James rolled his eyes.

James: "So what's wrong."
Mary: "Allergies. Must've inhaled some stray gluten."

James picked up both glasses and motioned to the living room.

Mary picked up the bottle of Absolut and went to put it back in the fridge. She moved some of the red bottles aside to make room for the vodka.

Mary: "Jesus, no wonder he never gets sick. How much V8 can a person drink?"

Mary: "You know, I think I remember reading somewhere that too much carrot juice can cause dimensia. No... wait... maybe it just turns you orange. Did Tristan seem orange tinted to you?"
