Jade stared fixedly at Lupita, pondering the giant cow-plant's broad leaves. The weeks since Christmas had been spent working nearly nonstop- she knew the key to unlocking the secret to vampire’s catastrophic reaction to sunlight had to lay hidden deep within its thick cellulose walls, but it continued to elude her. Behind her, Glass let out an excited gasp, pulling her out of her thoughts.

Jade: "I take it you're having more luck than I am."
Glass: "I knew it! I knew I was going about this all wrong before- it never had anything to do with the Xypathion Complex, it was the L'grandian Effect! I can't believe I didn't see it before now!"

Jade: "Fascinating, really. What exactly does it mean?"
Glass: "It means that we're one step closer to reaching our goal. The virus is now stable outside the human body."
Jade: "You lucky son of a bitch…"
Glass: "Hey, she's your mother too. What about you? Getting anywhere?"

Jade: "Making progress, but obviously nothing like what you've just done."
Glass: "Is Mr. Stone supposed to stop in today? Or do you think I should call him?"

Andy: "Boo."
Glass jumped, comically throwing his pencil in the air before quickly turning.
Andy: "Didn't mean to scare you. You have something for me, I presume?"

Glass: "Yes, sir, as a matter of fact I do. I've successfully isolated the virus outside of the human body."
Andy: "That's spectacular news, Glass."
Glass: "Right now I have it living and thriving inside a rat- it's only a matter of time before I'm able to have it in a useful form."
Andy: "Still, it's a step in the right direction. Keep up the good work."

Andy: "Jade, may I speak with you for a moment, in private?"
Jade felt her heart skip a beat and fought back irrational fear. She & Glass had felt jumpy ever since the incident with Xero, though they knew they had nothing to fear. Still, seeing your co-worker shot dead right in front of you is enough to set anyone on edge. She nodded silently before following Andy to the back of the lab.

Jade: "What can I help you with, sir?"
Andy: "I need you to put something together for me- I need a pill that will help someone sleep, but causes vivid nightmares. Can you do that?"

Jade: "It sounds simple enough- there are several varieties of plants that have a sedative effect when ingested, and countless others that spawn vivid nightmares."
Jade watched Andy closely as he nodded thoughtfully, and she realized that his current game was coming to a close. A wide smile began to blossom on her face, but she fought it back.

Andy: "How long would you need to put something like that together?"
Jade: "Only a few hours- I'm fairly certain I have all the supplies I need here in the lab. As far as toxicity is concerned- are you looking for something lethal?"
Andy: "No, no… just want to put the fear of God in her."

Jade: "I know just the thing."
Andy: "Excellent. I'll stop by before the gala tonight to pick them up, around 6:30. I'll need about 30 or so."
Jade: "I'll get right on it."

Andy smiled widely at Jade before turning and making his way out of the lab. She made her way over to Glass, an idea taking root in her mind. She had an idea of the plants to use to make Andy's pills, but there was real risk of them being poisonous at a high dose. She didn't want to risk being caught herself, nor did she want any suspicions cast on Stone should something go wrong.

Jade: "I need your help."
Glass: "What with?"
Jade: "I need a concealment spell- something that will block certain chemical compounds from being discovered."
