Nurse Carol: "I'm very sorry. It's only a matter of hours now… can I bring you anything?"

The nurse cast her eyes downward as her question was met with strangled sobbing. She quietly walked out of the room, gently shaking her head.

Nurse Joan: "You never get used to it, do you."
Nurse Carol: "The second I do is the second I start looking for a new line of work."

Nurse Joan: "They've just brought in a new trauma--I heard they already called LifeCenter Northwest. Maybe a bit of hope's in order?"
Nurse Carol: "Not for the trauma, apparently."
Joan shrugged indifferently.

Nurse Joan: "Suicide."
Nurse Carol: "Well, keep your voice down, these two have had enough disappointments."
