</td>

Eventually, the tears seemed to dry up, and they pulled away from each other, uncomfortably dabbing at their eyes and clearing their throats. Moments before it felt like the world was about to end, but here they were. Things went on, just as they would have in the real world.

Mary: "So."
Tristan: "So."
Mary: "Emily's not here."
Tristan: "No."
Mary: "Right. So let's try the white pages."

Tristan glanced up doubtfully as Mary walked toward a pay phone that he hadn't previously noticed. She pulled out the phone book that was chained to the booth and flipped to the middle, running her index finger over the pages.

Mary: "Laine... Laine, Edward; Laine, Edmond; Laine, Efram; Laine, Eggbert... Eggbert? Seriously? Laine, Elmer; Laine, Emily A.; Laine, Emily I. That's her."
Tristan: "Laine, Emily I.?"
Mary: "Yeah."
Tristan: "Please tell me this phone book hasn't been here the whole time."
Mary: "Try not to think about it."

Mary tore out the page with Emily's address and telephone number on it.

Mary: "Come on, then. Let's do this thing."
Tristan: "Okay. But only if you stop pretending to be a superhero from a bad movie."
Mary: "Oh like you aren't. Do you want to take the bus or walk? It's only the next stop over."

Tristan answered without a second thought.

Tristan: "Walk."

Ahahaha, was it one of those silly Home Ec. projetcs? Or one of those little kid things?

My class did flour babies. I named mine Bartholomew.

Just a little kid thing. I always wanted to do one of those Home Ec. projects. In Family Living they had the actual baby doll who cried and screamed and everything >.< He just kind of... put me off that class LOL

Hahaha, if anything that would turn people off from babies for the rest of their lives, that would do it. I absolutely loathe dolls that make noise.

The flour baby project i did was actually more awkward than anything else. You were supposed to pair off with a member of the opposite sex (if there was enough to go around), flip coins to determine genetics, and then trade the baby off every day.

If anything, it prepared kids for divorce. ^^;;

Exactly. You had to pity the kids who had to take the wretched thing home for the weekend; Bawling and screaming, it's carrier and everything. Honestly. Way too much noise.

o.O LMAO I like that, flipping coins to determine the genetics? I'd hate to have to work with someone though, cos knowing my luck, it'd be someone I dont get along well with (and at my school, there's a high percent for that :P)

LMAO Heeeey, divorce is a pretty tricky something :P
