deception_pass: (New Tristan Angst)

Outtakes are up.

I wanted to take this space to give a huge shout of Thanks! to Cyclonesue over at The Sims Resource. Without her amazing buildings the Underworld would have been sadly empty.

And I'm not sure how she feels about the public thanks, but I also owe a huge Thank you! to [livejournal.com profile] gelydh. Without her there's no way I'd have gotten around to learning how to pull animations and not have to rely on other people. Now I'm able to grab exactly what I need when I need it in order to really breathe life into this beast.

Again, thank you all for reading!

We will be back! This is really just the beginning... We need a few weeks to recover, then we'll be at DragonCon. We'll certainly keep everyone posted as far as the start of the next season goes. ^_^

I think the outtakes are my favorite shots of them all! o(^.^)o

It's actually a skirt and a top. I'm pretty sure both parts came from TSR. ^_^

That third one of James... ROFL. That is seriously the best.

Quick question - do you have the lighting hack(s) from Mod? Sometimes it looks like you do, but others it doesn't.

Ohhhh yeah. rofl that one made me giggle a fair bit :D

Nope, I don't have the lighting hack. I tested it out but it did really strange things to Jacob's hair, and seeing as he's going to be a regular it just wasn't going to work out. There are things I like about it, and things I don't. I love the softness of the light, but the tone is a bit too warm for my tastes (I prefer a cooler quality to my lighting).

It's really funny you should mention that, btw. I was looking at some of these pictures thinking how strange it was that some of them looked like I had the mod installed. Partly I wonder how much of that has to do with the sky projector I have on a few of the lots...

What's a sky projector?
[identity profile] infaiirverona.livejournal.com wrote:

(Super awesome object at Modthesims2. I'd provide the link for you but the site's currently down.)

The sky projector is amazing. That's partly why I thought you might have it, because I've heard of the sunsets in the lighting hack. The darn hack's never worked in my game so I solely rely on that projector!

Hmm, wonder what Jacob's hair looked like in lighting hack mode now... =O

Gee ... think you like the hack? LOL Will check it out when the site is up.

Is that how you got the cloudy day, Aikea? That was wonderful!

Yes it is. And the sunset.

Coolness.

I completely squealed over the cloudy sky. I'm such a dork.

WHOOT!

It looked normal from the front...

...but clearly had issues in the back.

Of course, that was with the old version of the hack. The new version doesn't do that, at least not to his bloodred hair.

And really the sunset isn't all that great. The one that comes with the sky projector is much prettier, at least in my opinion.

I see... LOL. Definitely a problem.

I'd agree, from what I've seen of the lighting hack's sunset it's too... pink perhaps? I'd personally rather edit in the colors if I really wanted a sunset scene that badly. The sky projector is a better choice, I think... especially in your hands. The cloudy scene was neat!

Thanks for clearing that up, my friends and I were debating whether or not you had the hack. XD

LOL, looks like Tristan's a little confused on what happens to Jacob in lighting hack mode as well as us. Can't blame him... it looks really out of place. Light may have helped, I think you're on to something. XD

Eeeeeeee. I'll try and survive till you can update again ;) Nah, take your time. I can imagine how hard all this bit's been, what with the sets and all. Like that hedgmaze? Holy hell. I love [s]your[/s] Elise's tatoo's. =P That's an awesome skin there. Did you make it?

Gyah. I love the take outs. Some of them are just too amusing. And then I find it an excuse just to see more Tristan pics -cough- -pokes at James- I do wish he'd restyle his hair though :P The ponytail is nice, but the big Cure-style hair? That rules.

Gleeeeeee. I love the pillowfights. Haha, I finally got to play my games on my friends computer, where I can have all the games installed (until we get a new computer or a second harddrive, I can only have the base game installed at home <.<) and I finally got to see them do a pillow fight. Eeeeee. So now I can perfectly picture Tristan and Emily doing that that and it makes me squeel. God. Hell must suck :P Haha at Tristan waving around the sword. I can totally see him dressed as a Knight. -snickers-

LOL! Poor Jakob. He says "CAMERA ON ME. PLZKTHKZ." Teehee -pets him-

And really, thank YOU for posting this. I haven't read a story this good in a while. I mean, seriously, the way you write and all... god. You guys amaze me, really. I can't wait to see the second season. -squeeels- I'm so excited now =D -beams-

Tags tend to be evil like that -prods them-

But anyway I must say great job on it ^.^ I need to learn to make the tatoos, I've seen various tuts for it and I honestly want to try my hand at it; sometimes plain skins are just too boring.

I have a tattoo tutorial up:

http://pics.livejournal.com/aikea_guinea/gallery/0003pc8d

Too bad Tristan's tattoos in the example pictures are his oldschool ones. I'm so insanely proud of his new ones I'd rather show those off instead. XD

Hmmm... editing is an option though!

I thought I replied to this ages ago -blushes- Anyway, thank you so much ^_^ When I get some free time I'll have a try at it. :D

I must agree, I like his new ones a bit more :P Plus, they seem to fit him better. Ohhhh THAT JUST MADE ME THINK OF A QUESTION -runs-

Tim had my vote for cutest Underworld extra until I saw the bartender. ^_^ And I noticed that he and the bus driver looked a lot alike; yet I had to go through the pictures twice to find Kat. Go figure. :P

Girlie, when you're insanely bored one day I'll have to ask you about your red hair stash-- I find that most of the reds out there aren't the right color, but Mary's got just the right shade.

Or I could figure out how to recolor hair, and not be so helplessly dependent on modders. It sucks to have no graphic skills.

We'll miss y'all while you break!

Emily's hair is a donation mesh from Rose Sims, and Tristan's cigarette is from here:

quick question
First of all, thank you for all of this, because it's wonderful. You guys do great work. I was wondering if you used cheats to regulate things like needs bars, because it seems like stopping to feed them and keep their hygiene bars full would make getting your shots unbearably long. How do you do it?
[identity profile] aikea-guinea.livejournal.com wrote:

Re: quick question
I'm the queen of cheats I think. For their needs, I use two cheats:

maxmotives

and

motivedecay off

And you've inspired me to actually get off my ass and do the Behind The Scenes thing I've been considering for months now. ^_~

Re: quick question
Happy to help! :-) (And, somehow, I didn't think of those cheats...they seem a lot easier than using boolprop.)

This was wonderful. You guys rock!

I love outtakes. Ah the pillowfits. ^_^ I thought that picture 28 of Emily was beautiful. I don't think I've seen her look better. True that she was crying but still. I can't wait for the next season to start but I know you guys need a break so I'll wait and re-read the whole thing again. ^_^

I definitely am looking forward to any behind-the-scenes stuff you feel like doing. I've been wondering about a lot of your animations and I have read where you've mentioned a few, like the miming and the bowing, but I've never figured out how to get those in my game, and there are some story ideas in my head that I could use some of those poses to illustrate.

You guys totally rock at the story making and pulling it off extremely well in Sims. My Gosh! I wish I was a third as good as you for this whole thing. I seriously wanna learn it all though and in time, hopefully, I'll do a good enough job. *bows down to your awesomeness*
