She nodded at the old librarian who made it her business to look suspiciously at every patron as they walked in the door and quickly sat down in front of an open computer terminal. Once again, she found herself staring at a blinking cursor, wondering where to start. She had to find some way to narrow her focus.

Mary: "Think, Mary!"
Jesse: "What?"
Mary: "Is your name Mary?"
Jesse: "Uh, no."
Mary: "Then I wasn't talking to you, was I?"

Jesse: "Dude, this is a library. You're supposed to, like, be quiet and shit."
Mary: "So quit talking to me!"
Jesse: "Whatever, man. This place has really gone downhill."
Mary: "Since when, Story Time? What are you, twelve? Maybe you should go back to the kids section, I'm sure the people there are much nicer."

Jesse: "Hey Lady, I'm thirty-four."
Mary: "Really?"
Jesse: "Yeah. I do yoga. Keeps me young. That shit's better than plastic surgery."
Mary: "Great. Why don't you make like a tree pose and leave. I'm busy here."

Mary: "Some people. Now, where was I...?"
Linda: "Shhh!"

Mary took a deep, calming breath and tried to focus, but the fantasy of Laura's fiancé, the plastic surgeon, beating up Yoga guy distracted her and made her giggle.

Suddenly, her giggles dissipated and all of her thoughts came to a screeching halt. She knew exactly what to search for.
