Erebus: ::Those vermin don't have your superior hearing, nor can their underdeveloped minds hear me now. Why are you here, James? Why are you letting them into your heart when you know it will only lead to pain for you when their short pathetic lives are finally over?::
James: "...the hell?"

Erebus: ::Our little dance earlier has left me hungry. I believe I'll start with that one- her blood smells so sweet flowing beneath her skin, don't you think? So much fear and pain there...::

Tristan: "Ok, now you're starting to piss me off..."

Erebus: ::Does that loathsome thing mean something to you?::

Erebus: ::Why do you bother trying to fit in with these lowly creatures? You're so much more than they are- you know deep within your very being that they are but weak and cruel animals, preying on each other's worst nightmares.::

Erebus: ::Besides, it's not as if she could ever love you- our kind are monsters to them, Tristan. If she ever found out the truth you hide, she would run from you with the same fear in her eyes that your sisters had all those years ago.::

Erebus: :: Don't worry- it's too dark and you changed back too quickly for them to have noticed anything earlier. The time will come, though, and when it does...::

The air was momentarily filled with the sharp crack of unholy wailing as Emily plunged one of Mary's stakes into the creature's back. She was surprised at the amount of resistance she encountered, the stake stopping only a few inches into Erebus' body and leaving her hand with several splinters.

Completely caught off-guard by the attack, Erebus instinctively turned and ran from the cemetary leaving a sickly trail of blood behind him. This wasn't how it had played out in his mind- those contemptible creatures were supposed to cower before him, not shove carved pieces of wood through his ribcage! Time to get away, to recouperate and get them later.

Emily: "Nobody messes with my friends..."

Tristan: "Are you ok?"
Emily: "I feel a little funny."

Tristan: "Let's get out of here. I don't really want to hang around waiting for that thing to come back, to be honest."
Emily: "I can't believe I missed it's heart."
Tristan: "I thought it was an amazing strike, personally. Thank you, Emily."

Mary: "No such thing as vampires? What was that, then?"
James: "Clearly a local sideshow act has come down with rabies..." |
