 Early the next morning, Mary made her way back to the hospital. She walked slowly down the hallway, the buzzing of the fluorescent lights filling her head. She'd been too wound up to sleep anymore the previous night after getting Emily home. James and Tristan had left just before sunrise, neither of them speaking much about what had gone on in their respective dream worlds. Within a few minutes she was standing just outside room 314. She took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
Mary looked around nervously, clutching Kat's charts tightly behind her back. She backed up to a table in the corner and dropped the papers onto it.
Dr. Sutherland: "Why are you here?" Dr. Sutherland sighed and lead Mary out of the room.
Mary blinked up at the doctor. Mary: "How? Why? I mean... clearly she wasn't in the best of health, but she'd been holding on for so long..."
Dr. Sutherland took of his glasses and rubbed his eyes before putting them back on. He took a deep breath and paused before answering.
Mary could see there was something else he wanted to say, but he didn't. She didn't push. He gave her one last look before walking down the hallway. Mary watched until he turned the corner, then took one final look into Kat's room before letting the door swing shut.

This chapter was so wonderful!! There were so many great moments... I squealed like the fangirl that I am when Emily whispered Tristan's name in her angelic sleep state. I imagine you only whisper the name of your one true love while in an angelic sleep state, and what name did she whisper? "Andy"? I don't think so. "Tristan"! Ohhhh yeah.
Also, I forgot to mention when I commented on the last section that Ian is the perfect name for Emily's evil ex... Michelle's evil ex is named Ian, and he is so heinous we all lovingly refer to him as Satan these days. Needless to say my association with that name has ruined it in my eyes forever... so it really is the perfect name for that particular character.
Mary and Emily sloooowly inch closer to realizing James and Tristan are vampires... when they caught James going for Kat's neck I was certain the truth would be revealed, but alas... "You know, Mr. 'There's-No-Such-Thing-As-Vampires' seems to like to dream he is one." One day... one day soon they'll find out. They'd better, anyway. Why are the boys so afraid to tell them? Markus knows and he's perfectly fine with it. Hmmm, I suppose it would be a little traumatizing at first... oh well, all in due time.
The part with Markus and Kat in the field of flowers made me very teary.
Best lines this time around:
James: "Do you always dream about my bedroom?"
Tristan: "Yes, James. Every day I dream we live together in wedded bliss."
James: "Wait… really?"
Tristan: "No."
This was wonderful as well:
Tristan opened his eyes and found himself staring straight into James' smiling face.
Tristan: "It would appear that I've failed to wake up and am now stuck in a nightmare."
Mary: "Welcome to my world."
Hehehehehe. Mary and James are so in lurrrrrve! Le sigh.
And OMGTRISTANPUTEMILYINBEDANDKISSEDHER *gasp for air* ANDHEWASCRYINGANDHISEYELINERRANANDITWASREALLYREALLYHOT!!!!!11~~2
Also, it would appear someone who looks an awful lot like Danielle has appeared in a diner. And her name is Elise. And she's looking for Andy. Things are going to get very interesting very soon, I wager...
Finally, I really love Mary's hair in the last part. She sure looks good for hunky Dr. Sutherland. I knew Markus must have helped Kat "cross over" to the spirit world... (He should get his own psychic TV show... Crossing Over with Markus Aurelius) At least she isn't stuck in her dream state anymore, and won't take any more hostages, vampiric or otherwise...
